SO WHAT:

Current methods for assessing telemetry data (information sent from space) from rovers on Mars involves a vast suite of tools operators must quickly use in parallel. CASCADE centralizes trending telemetry visualization plots and tables for rapid assessment of spacecraft performance so that operators can spend more time monitoring for anomaly events and less time switching between various software products.

 

MY ROLE:

  • Designed new process for gathering user feedback: Designed and deployed new standard for maintaining rapid design production while simultaneously conducting regular user testing efforts. 
     
  • Exclusive producer of UX design production: I designed the full suite of UI mockups for telemetry analysis product based on gathered user research and iterative prototyping tests.
     
  • Visual design and branding: I lead the effort of updating the Quarks UI Toolkit with new UI components and UI patterns needed for the CASCADE user community. Newly designed CASCADE features were then made available for other missions to apply to their suite of tools.
